چکیده
A CMOS self-mixing-free RF front-end for direct-conversion receivers is presented, which includes a differential LNA, a ring oscillator, and I/Q double-balanced harmonic mixers and buffers. It operates at 930MHz, achieves 51dB gain and 5.8dB spot noise figure at 100kHz frequency, and consumes 53mW power. A 54dB self-mixing improvement over traditional architecture is obtained. The front-end is entirely selfmixing-free and suitable for direct-conversion applications.

A Flicker-Noise-Free DC-Offset-Free Harmonic Mixer in a CMOS Process
A harmonic mixer for direct-conversion receivers is proposed and fabricated in a CMOS process. It is immune from both the flicker noise and self-mixing induced DC offset. Using the lateral bipolar transistor and the harmonic mixing technique, it achieves +15dB gain, 17.8dB NF at 10kHz frequency, 8.2dBm IIP3, +44dBm IIP2 and more than 30dB DC offset suppression. It consumes 2.2mW power at 3V.

This paper analyses two front-end receiver architectures intended for GSM900 use; (i) A direct-conversion receiver, and (ii) a low-IF receiver using a poly-phase filter. The aim is to determine the circuit performance required for GSM operation and to compare this to current state-of-the-art CMOS performance. The analysis shows that direct-conversion receivers fail to meet specifications when b...

متن کاملDesign of a Very Low-power, Low-cost 60 GHz Receiver Front-End Implemented in 65 nm CMOS Technology
The research on the design of receiver front-ends for very high data-rate communication in the 60 GHz band in nanoscale CMOS technologies is going on for some time now. While a multitude of 60 GHz front-ends have been published in recent years, they are not consequently optimized for low power consumption. Thus, these front-ends dissipate too much power for battery-powered applications like han...

This paper presents a 2.14GHz RF front end for Wide-band Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA) receiver. The receiver is based on direct conversion architecture and implements a low noise amplifier (LNA) and a quadrature mixer in 0.25μm CMOS process. The receiver achieves a noise figure (NF) of 8.93dB, provides a gain of 17.14dB, has an IIP3 of -15.04dB and dissipate 72.15mW at 2.5V.
